Cold Weather Homeless Shelters Extended through Friday Night

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - As extremely low temperatures continue throughout this week, the Broward County Housing Options, Solutions, and Supports Division (HOSS-D), in collaboration with local community partners, will continue to shelter individuals and families experiencing homelessness nightly through Friday night, February 6, 2026.  Since Monday, January 26, there have been a total of 984 people housed overnight, with an average of 140 sheltered per night. 

Homeless persons are advised to report to The Salvation Army for shelter placement beginning at 5:30PM each night. Dinner is optional and will be available at 4:30 PM daily.

Please notify homeless persons in your area. Shelter beds will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited.  

If the weather forecast changes to predict warmer or colder conditions, cold weather emergency shelter nights may be canceled or extended.
