BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division will be milling and resurfacing Sunrise Boulevard from Sawgrass Corporate Parkway to N. Flamingo Road in Sunrise (refer to location map below). This is the third phase of a larger gas tax-funded project along this corridor. The first phase, which included drainage system cleaning and inspection, was completed in July 2023. The second phase, which included minor drainage repairs and installing ADA-accessible pedestrian curb ramps, was completed in September 2024. This third phase is scheduled to begin on January 11, 2026, and conclude in July 2026, barring any unforeseen conditions or weather-related delays.
To minimize impacts on the traveling public and nearby Sawgrass Mall, construction will occur Sunday through Thursday nights, from 8PM to 7AM. During this period, at least one of three travel lanes in each direction will remain open. Variable message signs will be posted to alert motorists and pedestrians.
