Library's ArtLit 2026 Festival Celebrates Tradition and Connection

- Free, all-ages event features a day of entertainment and activities -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County Library's, free, all-ages ArtLit 2026 festival, inspired by the novel The Seed Keeper by Diane Wilson, is scheduled from 10AM to 3PM on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Southwest Regional Library, 16835 Sheridan St., Pembroke Pines, FL 33331, 954-357-6580.

Enjoy cultural performances, planting workshops, crafts, food vendors, book discussions, giveaways, photo ops, and more, including free face painting, storytime, and activities just for kids.

ArtLit2026 features hands-on cultural, creative and artistic interactive experiences relating to The Seed Keeper by Diane Wilson and the youth companion book The First Blade of Sweetgrass by Suzanne Greenlaw and Gabriel Frey. Participate in a writing workshop with filmmaker Nerissa Street, typewriter poetry with Patton Horton, and a community dye bath using colors sourced by nature with artist Shawna Moulton, among other exciting programs.

The Seed Keeper celebrates the personal and family values and traditions that give joy and meaning to our lives as one generation connects to the next through plants and the environment. In that spirit, the public is invited to an amazing day to make family memories through art, the environment, and community.

"Art Lit 2026 is a celebration of tradition, life and personal values, so important to us all," said Director Grubbs. "It's a wonderful way to learn, engage and reflect together on what is precious to us."

Admission, parking, and all ArtLit 2026 activities are free, and registration is requested.
