Drainage Project on NW 7th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale

- Work begins November 12 -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division will be performing drainage system repairs along NW 7th Avenue from Broward Boulevard to Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. Work is expected to start Wednesday, November 12, and will conclude August 10, 2026, barring any unforeseen conditions or weather delays. This project is funded by the gas tax.

To minimize impacts to traffic, nearby businesses, and residents, the work will be done at night. During construction, one lane in each direction on NW 7th Avenue will be open at all times. Several side streets will be affected for one or two days at a time. Impacted motorists will be detoured around the active work zone. Access to driveways and sidewalks will remain open. Variable message signs will be posted to advise affected motorists and pedestrians.

Project Manager Felix Garcia can be reached at 954-299-9956 or fegarcia@broward.org. For additional questions, please contact the Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division at 954-357-6040.

Broward County appreciates your patience as we complete this necessary repair.
