BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Her Excellency Dr. Epsy Alejandra Campbell Barr, the Former Vice President of Costa Rica from 2018 to 2022, will be a featured guest at the 10th Annual Florida International Trade and Cultural Expo (FITCE). Dr. Barr will be a featured guest and participant in the Universal Women's Leadership Forum and join other heads of state, high-level government officials and their delegations representing over 70 countries, national agencies, businesses, and attendees at the free event on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, and Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Greater Fort Lauderdale | Broward County Convention Center, Atlantic Ballroom - new East Expansion - located at 1950 Eisenhower Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. Dr. Barr is a globally recognized leader, economist, human rights and environmental activist who was twice a congressional representative in the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica. As the first woman of African descent to hold such a high office in the Americas and former Chairperson and current member of the United Nations Permanent Forum on People of African Descent, Dr. Barr is renowned for championing economic development, women's empowerment, and equitable trade policies.
