Broward County Library Celebrates Juneteenth
  
Celebrating Freedom with special guests, performers and activities
  

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County Library (BCL) commemorates Juneteenth, the oldest known celebration honoring the official end of slavery in the United States. Enjoy special guest speakers, performances, discussions, storytelling, crafting and the legendary Blues & Sweet Potato Pie Festival.

The 24th Annual Blues and Sweet Potato Pie Festival, a BCL signature event held at Northwest Branch/Apollo Park, celebrates Juneteenth from 11AM to 5PM on June 14th with a day of live music, food, culture, history and family fun.  

The African American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC) will host Destination Freedom, a ticketed ($50 per person), adult-only social event from 6:30 to 9PM on June 20th in celebration of Juneteenth with  lively music, southern food, dancing and storytelling.
