BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County Animal Care, the County's official pet adoption and animal welfare agency, has launched an innovative Tags for Life program, simplifying the pet registration process for residents.
While County law requires all pets to have registration tags, this new initiative eliminates the need for pet owners to replace their pet's tag annually. Instead, pets receive a lifetime pet tag that stays with them for life. Owners only need to pay an annual renewal fee, without the hassle of obtaining a new tag each year.
"Tags for Life is a big win for Broward County pet owners. It gives pet parents peace of mind, knowing their pets have a reliable form of identification for their entire lives," said Doug Brightwell, Animal Care Director. "Previously, owners had to go through the inconvenience of getting a new tag every year. Now, they can renew their lifetime tag annually, making the process easier and more convenient for everyone."
All dogs and cats in Broward County must have a County registration tag and a current rabies vaccination to comply with local laws. The Tags for Life program prioritizes convenience, eliminating the need to track and replace tags annually while maintaining protection and legal compliance with the annual renewal of their Tags for Life registration.
Annual Registration Fees:
- Sterilized Dogs: $25
- Unsterilized Dogs: $55
- Sterilized Cats: $15
- Unsterilized Cats: $30
