Flamingo Greenway Project in Pembroke Pines

- Work begins December 9 -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Public Works Department's Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division will continue to expand the County's greenway system with construction of the first segment of the Flamingo Greenway. This one-mile segment will be in Pembroke Pines, on the west side of Flamingo Road and the Snake Creek Canal, between Pembroke Road and Pines Boulevard, near C.B. Smith Park (see location map below). Work is scheduled to begin December 9, and will conclude in March 2026, barring any unforeseen conditions and/or weather delays. The project is funded by the gas tax.

Similar to previously completed greenways, the project will feature a 12-foot-wide multipurpose path, landscaping, signage, and shelters with benches and trash receptacles. When fully completed, the Flamingo Greenway will offer a 9.3-mile connection from the existing New River Greenway and Hiatus Greenway, extending south to the Broward/Miami-Dade County line.

Project Manager Felix Garcia can be reached at 954-299-9956 or fegarcia@broward.org. Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division can be reached at 954-357-6040.
