Introducing a New Citizen Data Portal

- Single point of access provides transparency -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County has launched its first-ever Citizen Data Portal.

The Broward County Citizen Data Portal is a single point of access for anyone wanting to learn more about their community and government through the use of various data-visualization tools. This centralized data intelligence platform houses information on a variety of topics ranging from public services and climate data to finances, health and education. The Citizen Portal has been designed by the County's Innovation Unit, part of the Resilient Environment Department, to promote transparency, accountability and civic engagement. By making data readily available to the public, the portal informs and empowers citizens, enabling them to make informed decisions about their community.

The Portal is also a catalyst for innovation and is committed to open data standards, providing free and accessible information to everyone, regardless of their technical skills or backgrounds. This commitment not only empowers local communities but also contributes to economic development, research advancements and efficient governance. County agencies, researchers, businesses and individual citizens can access and analyze the data to develop new solutions to local challenges. The Citizen Data Portal is more than just a website; it is a vision for a data-driven future.

The Innovation Unit invites you to join them at Government Center West in Plantation on Friday, April 19, from 10 AM - 3:30 PM as it recognizes and celebrates Innovation in Broward County. There will be lobby displays and hands-on demonstrations throughout the day including the Citizen Data Portal. For more information, visit Broward.org/Innovation.
