Bike Lanes Being Added in Coconut Creek

- Sidewalk and road improvements to happen first -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division will be performing sidewalk improvements, installing ADA-accessible pedestrian ramps, resurfacing and adding bike lanes on Lyons Road from Sawgrass Expressway to Hillsboro Canal/County Line in Coconut Creek. Funded by the Penny for Transportation surtax, work begins January 16 and is expected to conclude in October 2024, provided there are no unforeseen conditions and/or weather delays.

While sidewalk improvements are being made, a single lane of vehicular traffic will be closed during off-peak hours. Access to some businesses' driveways and sidewalks may be affected for a few days.

During the resurfacing operations, one lane of traffic in each direction of Lyons Road will be open and access to businesses and driveways will be maintained.

Variable message signs will be posted to warn affected motorists and pedestrians.
