BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Jill Sears has been named the new Assistant Director for the Broward County Libraries Division. She has most recently held the position of Acting Assistant Director.
“It’s an honor to work with the people of Broward County and the dedicated staff of the library,” says Sears. “We have a long list of exciting future projects that I look forward to bringing to fruition.”
Sears joined Broward County Library in 2006, playing a key role in numerous award-winning system-wide initiatives. She also served as a Library Regional Manager for Main Library and the Regional Manager for the Library's South Cluster, which includes 11 library locations.
Prior to joining Broward County Library, Sears worked for the Jacksonville Public Library and Clay County Public Library. She earned her Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina - Columbia, and her undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis.
“Ms. Sears is the perfect fit for the role of Assistant Director, and a joy to work with,” says Broward County Library Director Allison Grubbs. "She is also a wealth of library industry knowledge and is adept at fostering teamwork. I am confident that Jill will guide Broward County Library in providing outstanding service to our customers and help transport our library to the next level for our community.”
