BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Broward County Transit (BCT) is putting five new state-of-the-art Motor Coach International (MCI) buses on the road this summer to support BCT’s Express Bus Service to downtown Miami-Dade and Brickell. The new coaches, manufactured in the United States, feature an array of customer amenities, including overhead storage, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, power charging ports, air ionizers, bicycle racks for easy and convenient storage and a wheelchair lift for ADA passengers. Additionally, the coaches positively impact the environment with engines that reduce carbon emissions and are more fuel-efficient.

The new buses will operate on BCT’s I-95 and I-595 Express routes that originate at stations in Pembroke Pines, Miramar and Sunrise, with fast and convenient service on weekdays during morning and afternoon peak travel hours.

As more South Floridians return to work, BCT’s Express Bus Service to downtown Miami-Dade and Brickell offers a safe, stress-free, comfortable, and affordable option for commuters, and demonstrates how public transit can play a role in easing the daily commute,” said Broward County Transportation Director Chris Walton. 

BCT is expecting the arrival of its first two all-electric MCI over-the-road motor coaches by next spring. The new buses are another example of the strides being made towards building an eco-friendly, world-class transit system.
