Broward County Library Presents Summer at Your Library: Tails and Tales

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Animal lovers and book lovers are in for a treat during Broward County Library’s Summer at Your Library: Tails and Tales, happening online from June 1st through August 14th.   

Broward County Library's annual Summer Learning Program is a series of free, fun, online events for all ages designed to teach, entertain and inspire creativity. This year's theme is "Tails and Tales," with programs focusing on animals and nature. There is something for everyone with book discussions, book, trivia contests, crafts, puppet shows, musical performances, theatrical productions, wellness and wildlife education programs and more.                                   

 In addition to free, amazing events, there will be giveaways. Readers of all ages can preregister for challenges beginning May 1st, making them eligible for chances to win great prizes from Museum of Discovery and Science, Miami Children’s Museum, Water Taxi, Monster Mini Golf, Butterfly World, Everglades Holiday Park, Miami Seaquarium, Miami Heat, Florida Panthers Shake Shack, Zoo Miami, Riverside Hotel on Las Olas Boulevard and others.  

Register online at Broward.org/Library/Summer or in person at any Broward County Library location to win prizes for participating in Summer at Your Library by reading, attending events or completing activities. Summer at Your Library also features the return of Summer BreakSpot, with free “grab and go” meals and snacks at participating libraries.                                     

Summer at Your Library: Tails and Tales kicks off with the 16th Annual Children's BookFest on Saturday, June 5 with a special events double feature: “Let’s Draw with Bob Shea! from 11AM to 12PM and The Magical Bookstore, from 1 to 2PM by Fantasy Theatre Factory.

"Summer programs in public libraries sustain and encourage readers, learners and library users," says Interim Broward County Libraries Director Allison Grubbs. "This summer especially, we want children to stay connected to literacy and learning while they wait to get back to their classrooms.”
