County Celebrates Fair Housing Month
  
- Public invited to attend virtual event on April 29 -
  

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - In honor of Fair Housing Month in April, Broward County Professional Standards/Human Rights Section and HOPE, Inc. are inviting residents to attend a free virtual workshop. Themed “We’re in this Together,” it will be held on Thursday, April 29, from 9AM to noon.

The workshop will address current issues including Fair Housing Updates, Housing Insecurity in the Pandemic, Evictions and Protections, Mortgage Lending Practices and Safeguarding Victims of Human Trafficking. Speakers include:

  • Kristin Wong, Financial Analyst, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
  • Jumorow Johnson, President of the Broward Human Trafficking Coalition & Human Trafficking Coordinator, Broward State Attorney's Office
  • Berbeth Foster, Senior Staff Attorney, Community Justice Project
  • Denise Ghartey, Justice Catalyst Fellow and Attorney, Community Justice Project
  • Catherine Albamonte, Community Mortgage Specialist & Assistance Vice President, BB&T Home Mortgage
  • Keenya Robertson, President & CEO, HOPE, Inc.
  • Luxmy Panzardi, Testing & Investigations Coordinator, Hope, Inc.

Broward County residents, homeowners, condominium association representatives, housing providers, realtors, social workers, members of community organizations and attorneys are encouraged to attend. No registration is required. Participants can join online here at 9AM on Thursday, April 29.
