Broward County Library Presents 15th Annual Children's BookFest
  
- Free authors/Illustrators series for K-12 students begins August 26th -
  

BROWARD COUNTY, FL -  The Broward County Library’s 15th Annual Children’s BookFest is going online for 2020, featuring five award-winning authors and illustrators. The free series of programs takes place from 2-3PM, beginning August 26th and ending September 24th.

 Children, teens and families are invited to participate in this exciting series, which includes live online visits with special guests as well as fun and engaging online book discussions featuring Broward County Library staff.

The Children’s BookFest Online Author and Illustrator Series allows children K-12 to become immersed in five books over a span of five weeks. On Wednesdays, kids participate in Bookopoly, a book talk enhanced with games and challenges, and then meet the book’s author/illustrator on Thursdays. 

Material for Bookopoly programs, such as ebooks, audio books, or physical books can be downloaded or checked out and picked up at the library. Options and instructions for each specific program are posted on the registration page.

Register for any of these free programs: August 26/27, Rafael López, illustrator of Just Ask! Be Different, Be Brave, Be You by Sonia Sotomayor (best for elementary school students); September 2/3, Juana Martinez-Neal, author of Alma and How She Got Her Name (best for elementary school students); September 9/10, Tiffany D. Jackson, author of Monday’s Not Coming (best for high school students); September 16/17, Alex Gino, author of You Don’t Know Everything Jilly P!  (best for middle school students); and September 23/24, Tracey Baptiste, author of The Jumbies (best for middle school students).
