Broward County Parks - What's Open, What's Closed

- COVID-19 Park Operating Update #9 -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Broward County will ease its hard closure on parks in an effort to help residents stay mentally and physically heathy amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting Wednesday, April 29th, residents can access some parks and nature trails operated by Broward County for walking, jogging, biking, hiking, horse trails, and personal boat launching. Individual basketball play is allowed (no multiple players or pickup games permitted). Visitors can also fish, provided fishers stay at least 10 feet apart; play singles tennis; and disc golf (as long as CDC guidelines are followed). Mountain biking will be open at Markham Park to current passholders only. Parks and natural areas will be open from 8AM to 6PM; nature center grounds and neighborhood parks will be open from 9AM to 5PM. During this time, the parks' regular weekend and holiday gate fee will be suspended temporarily. Please enjoy these activities alone or with your family.

DO NOT enter a park if you have COVID-19 symptoms. Please practice physical distancing by staying at least six feet away from others. All visitors MUST have face coverings with them at all times and are required to wear them if they are within six feet of another person. Follow CDC guidelines on personal hygiene. There will be limited access to restrooms and water fountains.

The amended emergency order gives police and park staff authority to indefinitely close off a park (or park area) if visitors ignore rules. Park offices are NOT open, but guests can call park offices with any questions or concerns. Parks and trails are NOT open for gathering in groups. Picnics, organized athletic games, and pickup games are not permitted. All playgrounds/play areas are closed. (For a full list of amenity and activity closures, see the bulleted list below.)
