New Library Catalog Coming Soon

- Broward County Library services will be limited until March 4 -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL -  A new Catalog and Customer Account system will launch on March 5, 2020. During the transition period for this upgrade, several library services will be limited. All Broward County Library locations will be open their normal hours, however several services will be unavailable.

From now through March 4th no new items will be added to the catalog. From February 26th   to March 4th:

  • Please do not return library materials during this period
  • All due dates during this period will be extended to March 10
  • Book drops will be locked (No late fees will be assessed during this time)
  • There will be no access to the online catalog (including holds and renewals)
  • Your account will not be available and fines cannot be paid
  • Intermittent outages of online services will occur
  • New accounts cannot be created online. New accounts can still be created at the branches, but the new accounts won't be able to access public computers or digital resources.

The powerful new SirsiDynix software  being installed will allow Broward County Libraries to increase efficiencies while greatly enhancing and expanding service to customers. However, a change of this magnitude requires careful coordination as we move all items and customer records over to the new system. This is a challenging but necessary step as we prepare for the exciting future of Broward County Library services.
