Road Repairs Scheduled for SE 3rd Avenue in Fort Lauderdale

- County working with City to repair damaged segments -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Broward County Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division and the City of Fort Lauderdale have partnered in a joint effort to repair damaged segments of roadway along SE 3rd Avenue between SE 17th Street and SE 6th Street. The City of Fort Lauderdale has already removed trees causing roadway damages and will be planting trees in nearby City parks to replace the lost canopy. Broward County’s portion of the project entails removing tree root systems, repairing sidewalk, curb, drainage, and pavement infrastructure. This project is funded by the gas tax.

Restoration work will start on February 10, 2020 and will conclude on or before April 30, 2020, barring any unforeseen conditions or weather delays.

During construction, one northbound and/or southbound lanes will be closed to vehicular traffic during off-peak traffic hours. Access to driveways will be maintained and pedestrian traffic will be safely diverted. Variable message signs will be posted to warn affected motorists.
