BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Enjoy an afternoon of music and family fun on Sunday, February 9th, when Plantation Heritage Park (1100 S Fig Tree Lane, Plantation 33317; 954-357-5135) hosts ParksFest Family Music Day 2020, from noon to 5PM. The main act will be the 100-member Florida Youth Orchestra and a special guest, Grammy-winning jazz flutist Nestor Torres. The presenting sponsor is Rick Case Automotive Group.

Opening acts will include bands from Broward County Public Schools – Cypress Bay High School Sound of Thunder Jazz Band, Plantation High School Marching Band, and South Plantation High School Drama/Thespian Club. WPLG Local 10 TV anchor Calvin Hughes will emcee the festivities, which will also feature sponsor booths and car displays, food trucks, and beer and wine concessions. After its performance, the orchestra will supervise an Instrument Play Pen where kids can hold and play with musical instruments.

Bring lawn chairs and/or blankets so you can relax on the park’s lush green space to enjoy the concerts. No seating is provided. No outside food, beverages, or coolers are permitted as well, and leave the pets at home. A limit of one backpack or purse will be in effect.

Event capacity is limited, so advance ticket purchase is recommended by visiting CaribTix.com/ParksFest. Tickets are $10/person for ages 13 and up (with an online processing fee of $2.60). In accordance with the day’s emphasis on children, ages 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. ParksFest is a rain-or-shine event, with no refunds, transfers, or exchanges on any tickets purchased.
