Advance Screening of Netflix Docuseries "Who Killed Malcolm X?"

BROWARD COUNTY, FL Broward County Library presents a free advance screening of the first episode of the upcoming Netflix docuseries “Who Killed Malcolm X?," with special guest Abdur-Rahman Muhammad, the leading scholar, researcher and narrator of the six-part series, from 6:30 to 9PM on Friday, January 3rd at the African American Research Library & Cultural Center (AARLCC), 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311, 954-357-6282. 

 The first episode will be presented at AARLCC two weeks in advance of the Netflix broadcast on January 17th. The docuseries investigates the persona and the public assassination of civil rights leader Malcolm X on February 21, 1965. Special guest Abdur-Rahman Muhammad will speak with AARLCC manager Makiba Foster and take questions from the audience following the screening.  

The ground-breaking six-part docuseries “Who Killed Malcom X?” reopens the case with survivor interviews, never-before-seen archival material, and newly-declassified intelligence files. Emmy- and Peabody Award-winning producers Rachel Dretzin and Phil Bertelsen intensively probe Malcom X’s life and tragic death to uncover the truth of a pivotal episode in American history. They investigate with Abdur-Rahman Muhammad, an independent scholar based in Washington, DC, widely regarded as one of the most respected authorities on the life and legacy of Malcolm X.

“Who Killed Malcolm X?” is a free program; registration via Eventbrite is requested. Due to the nature of the material, it is recommended for ages 13 and up. Doors open at 6PM.
