- Yoga for teens, adults with developmental disabilities -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Yoga can bring harmony to the body, mind, and inner self – improving health, aiding in relaxation, and reducing stress. An Introduction to Yoga Clinic will share these benefits in two sessions, one for teens with developmental disabilities, another for adults with developmental disabilities. The clinic will be offered on Saturday, December 7th, at Sunview Park (1500 SW 42nd Ave., Fort Lauderdale 33317; 954-357-6520). The first session is for ages 13 to 17 and is from 10:30 to 11:30AM; the second session, from noon to 1PM, is for ages 18 and up.

Participants will learn the basics of yoga – movements, poses, meditation techniques, chanting, balancing – while having fun in the process. They’ll also learn about yoga’s history, language, philosophy, and more. The program is free, but class size is limited, and so preregistration is required by calling or emailing the Special Populations Section: 954-357-8160, SpecialPopulations@Broward.org.
