New JAWS® Software Launched at Broward County Libraries

- Equipment provides speech and Braille output for popular computer apps -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County Libraries now offers JAWS® (Job Access With Speech) screen reader software on public-use computers at 20 library locations throughout Broward.

JAWS was developed for computer users whose vision loss prevents them from seeing screen content or navigating with a mouse. It provides speech for popular PC computer applications, allowing users to navigate the Internet, write a document, read an email and create presentations. JAWS also allows all major functions of the Microsoft Windows operating system to be controlled with keyboard shortcuts and spoken feedback.

Please see attachment for a list of Broward County Library locations offering JAWS screen reader software.
