Broward County Transit Announces Service Improvements on Key Routes

- Schedule updates and new buses enhance the rider experience -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County Transit (BCT) will implement a service change effective Sunday, January 18, 2026, as part of its ongoing commitment to delivering Better Buses. Better Broward. These updates reflect continued investment in service quality, comfort, and aligning operations with how the community travels.

Beginning Sunday, January 18, weekday schedule adjustments will take effect on Route 4 and Route 7, while Route 48 will receive updated schedules on both weekdays and weekends. These changes are designed to better match service levels with travel patterns across the system.

In addition to schedule updates, Routes 4 and 6 will begin operating with new 29-foot buses. These buses are more agile and better suited for the corridors they serve, offering a comfortable, modern, and practical riding experience while supporting efficient operations.

"These service changes are about listening to our riders and making thoughtful investments where they matter most," said Broward County Transit CEO/General Manager Coree Cuff Lonergan. "From updated schedules that better reflect how our community travels, to newer buses better suited for the routes they serve, this is how we continue to bring transit back better for Broward County."

Interviews Available:
BCT will make leadership and operations staff available to discuss service reliability, vehicle upgrades, and how these improvements support everyday riders.
