BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Enjoy a free family festival full of music, dancing and stories at the 20th Annual Children's BookFest, the official kick-off for Broward County Library's 2025 Summer Learning Program, held from 10AM to 3PM on Saturday, May 31 at the West Regional Library, 8601 W Broward Boulevard, Plantation, FL 33324.
"Summer at Your Library" begins with the Children's BookFest, a signature program of Broward County Library, ideal for families with preschool and elementary school-age children. Attendees can learn about new library resources for early literacy and sign up for this year's "Summer Fun - Color Our World!" Summer Learning Program. BookFest is free and open to the public, with registration requested.
Sign up for the Summer Learning Program and join us for a book giveaway (while supplies last), local authors, entertainers, crafts, face painting, activities, storytellers and virtual reality experiences.
Featured Bookfest guests include singer Tracy Kahn; Jamaican Folklore performer Aunty Nadine; Chinese Lion Dance Team of the Coral Springs Chinese Cultural Association; Capo Capoeira teaching the Brazilian martial art of capoeira; the USVI Mocko Jumbie Stilt Dancers; Mad Science of Palm Beach to present "Fire and Ice" and much more.
The 2025 Children's BookFest is presented through collaborations with many community partners and is generously supported by the Broward Public Library Foundation, Panera Bread, Children's Services Council of Broward County, Just Salad and the Friends of the West Regional Library.
