- Direct service and alternate routes help maintain access to Palm Beach -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Effective immediately, Broward County Transit (BCT) will operate direct bus service between the Deerfield Beach Tri-Rail Station and the Boca Raton Tri-Rail Station to assist riders affected by the aftermath of the recent helicopter crash in Boca Raton. Today, Friday, service will run every 30 minutes between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to accommodate peak-hour demand.

Following the tragic helicopter crash in Boca Raton, BCT expresses its deepest sympathies to all those affected. As transportation agencies in the region respond to the emergency, BCT remains committed to supporting continued mobility for riders traveling to and from Palm Beach County.

"We are saddened by the devastation that has occurred in the Boca Raton area and so, our hearts go out to the victims of this unfortunate occurrence and their loved ones," said BCT CEO/General Manager Coree Cuff Lonergan. "BCT is here to support Tri-Rail and other transportation authorities as we provide bus service options to allow transit passengers to get to their destinations."

In addition to the direct shuttle, BCT offers alternative connectivity into Palm Beach County through several key routes that connect with Palm Tran:

• Route 10 connects to Mizner Park (327 Plaza Real, Boca Raton), a key location served by Palm Tran.

• Route 48 stops at The Cove Shopping Center (1582 SE 3rd Ct, Deerfield Beach), providing an eastern transfer point.

• Route 19 operates in the western part of the county, extending into Palm Beach and allowing for direct connection with Palm Tran's network.

BCT encourages riders traveling to Palm Beach County this weekend to take advantage of these options while the situation in Boca Raton continues to affect regional travel. For real-time information and updates, visit Broward.org/BCT or contact Customer Service at 954-357-8400.
