BROWARD COUNTY, FL -
Broward County Transit (BCT) proudly played a vital role in ensuring access to
employment opportunities at the 2nd Annual State of the Workforce Job Fair,
held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Broward County Convention Center.
By offering free transportation to and from the event, BCT helped nearly 10% of
the event's total registered attendees connect with potential employers,
reinforcing its commitment to workforce development and community support.
BCT transported approximately 418 passengers throughout the
day, with 203 job seekers arriving at the Convention Center via BCT's
designated job fair bus service and 215 returning to their original pick-up
locations. An additional 20 attendees utilized BCT's regular local Route
40 to reach the event, further demonstrating the accessibility and
convenience of public transit for job seekers.
"Reliable
transportation is a key factor in workforce success, and BCT is proud to
provide solutions that connect residents with economic opportunities," said Coree
Cuff Lonergan, CEO/General Manager of Broward County Transit. "By ensuring
job seekers had a stress-free way to attend this event, we reaffirmed our role
in supporting Broward County's workforce and economic vitality."

partnering with local organizations to provide equitable access to resources
