BROWARD COUNTY, FL - To support
voter participation in the upcoming General Election, the Broward County Board
of County Commissioners unanimously passed an ordinance on October 22, 2024, waiving
all Broward County Transit (BCT) bus and paratransit fares for early voting on
Saturday, November 2, Sunday, November 3, and on
Election Day, Tuesday, November 5. This initiative aims to help voters
access polling stations conveniently.
Early voting for the November 5 election is already underway across Florida, with
29 early voting sites open in Broward County until November 3.
Early voting hours are from 7AM - 7PM. BCT buses will stop near
these early voting locations, making it easier for voters to participate in the
democratic process.
In response to the Broward County Commission's unanimous
decision, "we are pleased to offer free transportation to the polls on these three days to ensure everyone has the opportunity to vote without transportation worries,"
said Coree Cuff Lonergan, CEO and General Manager at BCT.
