Airport to Host World Diversity Week Festivities, May 16-20
  
- Activities to highlight International Flavors of FLL -
  

BROWARD COUNTY, FLOn any given day, the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is a cultural mecca with employees of over 100 nationalities serving travelers from 44 international destinations and 90+ U.S. cities.  

To celebrate this rich cultural heritage, the airport is hosting a special week of activities from May 16-20, 2022, dubbed World Diversity Week, highlighting the theme "International Flavors of FLL."

FLL's weeklong schedule of activities will include live music and dance performances, a cooking demonstration, an Arts & Crafts Expo, and multilingual terminal announcements from employees saluting their countries of origin. World Diversity Week is an expansion of the United Nations' World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development celebrated annually on May 21.

As a Broward County-owned and operated airport, FLL is proud of its diverse community of guests and employees. As such, World Diversity Week is an exciting opportunity to share some cultural insights about the countries represented at the airport.

Here is a snapshot of key activities planned during this week: 

• May 16: Steel Drum Group, Terminal 4 Departures, 9AM-11AM; Flamenco Guitar & Dance, Noon-2PM

• May 17: Belly Dance Lessons, Terminal 3 Departures, 9AM-10AM

• May 18: Polka Band, Terminal 1 Arrivals, 9AM-11AM

• May 19: Mariachi Band, Terminal 3 Departures, 1:30PM-2:30PM

• May 20: Jazz Saxophone Performance with Arts & Crafts Expo, Terminal 1 Arrivals, 9AM-Noon
