Third Community Redistricting Meeting to be Held Tonight in Plantation

- Residents invited to take part to ensure a fair redistricting process -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – The third of six public meetings to engage the community in the redistricting process takes place tonight, September 28 at 7PM at West Regional Library in Plantation, 8601 W. Broward Blvd., Plantation, 33324. A virtual meeting is set for Wednesday, September 29 at 7PM for anyone who does not wish to attend in person.

Every 10 years following the Census, state law requires the County redraw political district boundaries to account for population shifts and ensure equal representation. Tonight's meeting will provide another opportunity for residents to speak up and submit their own community-drawn maps for consideration. Masks and social distancing are required.

The meetings are planned in geographically and demographically diverse locations throughout the County, with future meetings scheduled in Pompano Beach on Thursday, September 30 and Saturday, October 16 in North Lauderdale.

Community input is vital to a fair redistricting process. The community is also welcome to submit comments via email to redistricting@broward.org. More information and a list of additional meetings are available at Broward.org/redistricting.
