UPDATE: County Continues to Monitor Impacts of City Water Main Break
  
- Parks reopening; water distribution at Delevoe now includes Saturday -
  

UPDATE 2:50PM - All Broward County Parks closed due to the water main break will be open Saturday except for Delevoe which will be open for water distribution only. 

 

The following Broward County Parks remain closed on Friday:

  • Reverend Samuel Delevoe Memorial Park – CLOSED, but open for bottled water distribution 8AM – 7PM Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20
  • Boulevard Gardens Community Center – CLOSED Friday, REOPENING Saturday, July 20
  • Franklin Park - CLOSED Friday, REOPENING Saturday, July 20
  • Lafayette Hart Park - CLOSED Friday, REOPENING Saturday, July 20
  • Roosevelt Gardens Park – CLOSED Friday, REOPENING Saturday, July 20

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County opened a distribution point for bottled water today in the Broward Municipal Services District, one of the areas impacted by Wednesday’s break in a 42 inch water main line in City of Fort Lauderdale. On Thursday afternoon, the City announced that a temporary patch to the broken water main had been implemented, and that water service had been restored to much of the City. 

 

However, Fort Lauderdale and the following cities and areas who receive water from Fort Lauderdale, are under a boil water order until further notice:

  • Lauderdale-by-the-Sea
  • Oakland Park
  • Port Everglades
  • Sea Ranch Lakes
  • Wilton Manors
  • Portions of Davie
  • Portions of Tamarac

 

The County-operated Point of Distribution (POD) is open at Reverend Samuel Delevoe Park, 2520 NW Sixth Street, from 8AM to 7PM today. City of Fort Lauderdale is also operating three PODS for water distribution at the following locations:

  • Beach Community Center 3351 NE 33rd Avenue Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308 
  • Mills Pond Park 2201 NW 9th Avenue Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311
  • Riverland Park 950 SW 27th Avenue Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312

 

In other Broward County updates:

  • The Governmental Center in downtown Fort Lauderdale is open for business as usual.

  • The Main Courthouse is open.

  • The Broward County Convention Center is open.

  • All Broward County Libraries, including the Main Library, are open.

  • The Broward Addiction recovery Center and Nancy J. Cotterman Sexual Assault Treatment are open.

The following Broward County Parks remain closed on Friday:

 

  • Reverend Samuel Delevoe Memorial Park – CLOSED, but open for bottled water distribution 8AM – 7PM Friday, July 19
