BCT Launches New Limited-stop Service on Broward Boulevard

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Starting January 14th getting to downtown Fort Lauderdale on Broward Boulevard Monday through Friday will be a Breeze on Broward County Transit's (BCT) new Broward Breeze Limited-stop service, a service funded by the Florida Department of Transportation.

Complementing BCT's existing Route 22, the Broward Breeze Route 122 will shorten customers’ travel time during the busy weekday morning and afternoon peak commute hours and features free Wi-Fi.  The service will also give customers access to jobs, schools, appointments, shopping and other venues in Sunrise, Plantation and downtown Fort Lauderdale.

The community and the media are invited to join BCT for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the official launch on January 10th at 1PM at the Broward County Central Bus Terminal (Bus Bay D), 101 NW 1st Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. Parking is available across the street at the Governmental Center Parking Garage.

“The Broward Breeze is one of many improvements residents will see over the next few years as Broward County Transit works to provide better overall service. The launch of the Broward Breeze means better connectivity, an improved east to west commute, and it is ideal for people who live and work on the Broward Boulevard corridor. With the support of our partners at the Florida Department of Transportation, the County and funds from the penny tax initiative passed by voters, Broward County Transit can continue to build a bigger and better public transit system that offers numerous travel options for our residents and visitors,” said Transportation Director Chris Walton.
