- Commissioner Dale V.C. Holness will sponsor a District 9 Job Fair on Saturday, November 7th from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC) located at 2650 Sistrunk Blvd in Fort Lauderdale. The free job fair will offer full-time, part-time, and seasonal job opportunities in the areas of accounting and finance, customer service, hospitality, retail, warehousing, call center support and more.

Local and national companies will be on site to meet with job seekers including: ARC Broward, Broward Sheriff's Office, Career Source Broward, Convergys Corporation, Isles Casino, Macy's Department Stores, Marriott Pompano Beach Resort and Spa, Randstad USA, Sitel, Teleperformance, Tommy Hilfiger Stores, and Walmart which is set to open in 2015. The supercenter is in Commissioner Holness' district and is near one of Broward County's busiest interchanges, Broward Boulevard and Interstate 95, heading into downtown Fort Lauderdale.

To assist those looking for a job, a one-hour Job Fair Workshop will be held on Saturday, October 31st at 10:00am at AARLCC.  Information on participating employers will be provided along with job interview tips. AARLLCC will provide the use of computers for those wishing to fill out an application to be submitted immediately. 

"I wanted to have a job fair where those seeking employment would have an opportunity to meet face-to-face with hiring managers and receive community resource information at the same time. I encourage those who are looking for opportunities to attend the District 9 Job Fair and bring many copies of your resumes," said Broward County District 9 Commissioner Dale Holness.

In addition to companies looking to hire, Atlantic Technical Center, Broward College, and Tradesmen International will have representatives present to share resource information.  The Orange Bowl Committee will also have representatives on site for volunteer opportunities. People looking for employment are encouraged to wear business attire.
