Barbados Delegation To Tour Broward County Transit Operations

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Today, Thursday, October 26th, representatives from Broward County Transit (BCT) will lead a delegation from Barbados' Transport Authority on a tour of BCT's bus operations and maintenance. The Barbadian government is in the process of restructuring its transit system, and interested in observing BCT's daily operations. BCT runs its bus operations from two separate facilities in Dania Beach and Pompano Beach. The tour will focus on bus dispatch, route scheduling, bus traffic control, safety and security techniques, and vehicle maintenance and repair.

We are proud that Barbados' Transport Authority has chosen BCT as a model to follow as it restructures its transit system," said Chris Walton, Director of Broward County Transportation.

BCT is the second largest transit system in the state of Florida and provides services to parts of Miami-Dade and West Palm Beach.
