BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Broward County Transit Roadeo is an annual safety and skills competition for bus operators who volunteer to participate. It involves behind-the-wheel tests in which drivers navigate through an 11-scenario course and execute maneuvers such as the "Serpentine," "Offset Street" and "Rear Dual Clearance." Champions can advance to state, regional or even international contests.

Broward County Transit held one of the most attended bus safety Roadeos in BCT's history on March 6th.  For the first time, 17 eligible competitors signed up, many for their first time, with nearly 100 people attending, including families, friends and customers who cheered on the celebration. This year marks the 34th anniversary Broward County Transit's top operators show off their skills and talents in front of coworkers, family and friends.

This year our local Champion, Tommy Cannon, Jr., also took the title of Rookie of the Year. Second and third place winners are Allen Lakes and
John Hendricks, Jr.

Mr. Cannon will represent Broward County Transit at the state competition
at the Florida Public Transit Association/FDOT 2016 Triple Crown Bus Roadeo, hosted by LeeTran in Fort Myers, Florida on April 1-2, 2016.
